What is a Drug Treatment Court?Themis
Drug Treatment Courts are located throughout New York State, including Otsego County. Drug Treatment Courts are distinguished from other courts in their uniquely collaborative approach to treatment. Participants voluntarily enter drug treatment court and become a part of a dramatic intervention process that involves service coordination between prosecutors, defense attorneys, treatment providers, law enforcement officials, and service providers.

Mission Statement of Drug Treatment Court
The Drug Treatment court is a collaborative effort of legal, medical, educational, and social service professionals who provide comprehensive treatment and rehabilitative services for nonviolent alcohol and drug abusing offenders. We provide intensive supervision, drug testing and monitoring to achieve treatment outcomes. We believe that addiction is a disease process that can be treated through individualized approaches that will reduce criminal behavior.

Catholic Charities offers case management services to participants of Drug Treatment Court.
Case management services offered by staff at Catholic Charities are aimed at assisting people to live sober lives by helping them to set and achieve personal goals. Case management services include; referrals for assistance, transportation, home visits, time management skills, tips on budgeting, coordinating services, educational services and food preparation. Case management staff work collaboratively with the Drug Treatment Court's core team to ensure that individuals are receiving needed services and assistance to maintain sobriety.

Drug Treatment Court Team Members
The Drug Treatment Court team members include representatives from the following organizations: Mental Health Clinic, Probation Department, Chemical Dependency Clinic, Single Rooom Occupancy Housing, the District Attorney, Sheriff's Department, Delaware Valley Hospital, the Public Defenders office, case management staff, the Police Departments, and other service providers.
